Are you new to needing commercial dumpster rental services for your business? Ace-Robbins is the region’s leader in providing reliable dumpster services for a wide range of businesses including construction, renovation and remodeling, roofing, landscaping, and more.
Thanks to our experience, we make the process easy with three simple steps:
One of the great things about working with Ace-Robbins is that we are a locally owned and operated business. We understand the needs of local businesses because we’re one, too!
We’ve put together a guide covering information about our commercial dumpster and how they’re used so you can get a better idea of what size is required to meet your needs.
10-yard dumpster: This is the smallest size dumpster available. It’s commonly used for small office cleanouts or for projects involving heavy materials like cement or stone.
12-yard dumpster: Another small dumpster, this size is preferable for heavy materials, along with office cleanouts and small demo projects.
15-yard dumpster: This is the dumpster size that you will likely need if you’re doing a larger scale office cleanout or a moderate amount of debris from a roofing project.
20-yard dumpster: You will probably need this size dumpster for larger office cleanouts or renovations, as well as for average roofing projects.
20 long dumpster: This dumpster has the same amount of space as a 20-yard dumpster, but its lower walls and longer length make it easier to fill.
30-yard dumpster: For larger commercial renovations or cleanouts, you’ll likely need this size dumpster.
40-yard dumpster: This is the largest commercial dumpster available. If you are managing a whole-house emptying, or a large-scale commercial renovation or construction project, you’ll need this dumpster.
While commercial dumpsters are great for removing waste from your business or job site, there are multiple items that cannot be put in a dumpster for safety or regulatory reasons. These include:

Are you new to needing a dumpster? If so, you likely have a lot of questions. Fortunately, Ace-Robbins is here to help with our residential and commercial dumpster rentals.
One of those questions may be about where to place your dumpster to maximize safety and efficiency for your project. We’re here to help with some information about dumpsters and the importance of putting them in the proper place.
Your dumpster must be placed in an area accessible to our trucks so it can be safely delivered and placed.
Wherever your dumpster is placed, Ace-Robbins places it on top of wood boards to protect the surface underneath it. Once the dumpster is removed, we will clean up after it, so you don’t need to.
For optimal stability, ensure your dumpster is placed in a level and sturdy area. This is why driveways are the preferred option. While placing it directly on the ground is an option, be aware that it may damage the surrounding grass and leave marks when relocated. Concrete or paved surfaces are highly recommended.
When choosing a location for the dumpster, it’s important to consider ease of access. Look for a spot that is conveniently located near nearby doors or the worksite. The dumpster should be out of the way, yet easily and quickly reachable. Additionally, be mindful of any potential obstacles or structures that may impede access to the dumpster. Avoid placing it near fences, trees, buildings, or anything that could slow down or prevent access. Opt for a location that offers a clear and unobstructed path to the dumpster.
For safety and practicality, there are a few spaces where your dumpster should not be.
On the street: On the street may not be a bad place, but you need to do some thinking and planning ahead first.
In most municipalities, bins can be placed on city streets for a maximum of 24 hours. If you need to keep it longer, you’ll need a permit from your town or city hall and that needs to be done before the dumpster is delivered. Ensure that the permit is prominently showcased on the exterior of the bin.
Also, remember to be considerate of your neighbors. Make sure the dumpster won’t block access to driveways or keep neighbors from seeing traffic as they are exiting their driveway. If the dumpster is going to be there for multiple days, it may impact access to street parking, which can cause problems on weekends if anyone is having a party or cookout. Give them a heads-up.
On a slope: You may think, “Oh, it’s not that steep an angle. What’s the big deal?” However, as the dumpster accumulates additional weight from the items you’re disposing of, the likelihood of it sliding or gliding down a slope grows. It is crucial to be mindful of this, especially in winter, early spring, or late fall when the risk of frost and freezing exists. That can make a sloped driveway or yard extra slippery and turn your dumpster into a dangerous projectile.
On soft or sandy ground: While the dumpster may look fine when you place it, as you start to fill it, the combined weight of the waste and the dumpster will cause it to sink down into the ground. This makes it difficult to remove the dumpster.

Renting a dumpster for your residential or commercial project is an investment of not only money, but time.
Ace-Robbins makes renting a dumpster easy! All you have to do is contact us to get a quote, then we deliver the dumpster on the day you need it and pick it up when you ask us to.
Something else that makes renting a dumpster easy is knowing how to put it to good use for maximum efficiency. We’ve put together five tips to help you do that.
If you have questions about what you’re throwing out and whether you can put it in one of our dumpsters, ask us. Due to safety regulations, there are several things that Ace-Robbins cannot accept, such as:
A little work before you start loading, or even before the dumpster arrives, can make the project go faster and easier for you.
Do you have cardboard boxes? Break them down. They’re easier to carry that way and take up less room in the dumpster.
Break down furniture for easier loading and so it’s more compact. For example, a bed can be broken down, so the headboard and footboard lie flat with the side rails on top of them.
Another way to prepare is by knowing what should go in first. Lighter items such as flattened boxes, pillows, and furniture pieces should go in first. The heavier items on top will compact them so they take up less room.
Bag light items such as papers, Styrofoam, and fabrics so they don’t blow away. Put them on the bottom of the dumpster as well so they can be compacted by the heavier items on top.
Our dumpsters have a door that swings open. It may seem like more fun to just toss stuff over the side into the dumpster, but using the door makes the job faster, easier, and safer.
Start at the back of the dumpster and work your way back towards the door. This also allows you to distribute the load more evenly for safe hauling.
Our dumpsters have a maximum fill line. That line indicates the limit for safe hauling. Stop when or before you reach it. If the load goes past the fill line, we may not be able to haul it. You’ll lose time removing the items above the fill line. It’s easier and more efficient to let us know that you need another dumpster.

If you are new to renting a dumpster, you probably have a lot of questions about the process. No worries! Ace-Robbins is here to help make sure your dumpster rental goes smoothly for you.
That process starts with getting a FREE quote for dumpster rental from us. We go over your project so we can be sure of what you’ll need in terms of the dumpster size that will best work for your project.
We make dumpster rental easy. Once you get the quote, we’ll deliver the dumpster the day you want it. Unlike some other dumpster companies, we take great care in our dumpster delivery and removal services. We place our dumpsters carefully on wood boards, so your driveway is protected. When we come to remove the dumpster, we take the time to sweep and clean up behind us, so you don’t have to.
One question we commonly get asked is how long a dumpster can be rented for, so let’s address that.
The average dumpster rental period tends to be five to seven days. Ace-Robbins offers flexible rental periods as we know each project is unique. All you need to do is call us when the dumpster is full, and we’ll come pick it up. You don’t have to be home.
When people see their dumpster in person, they think it’s going to take a good while to fill it up. More often than not, a dumpster can get filled pretty quickly. Between drywall, lumber, cabinetry, furniture, kitchen and bath fixtures, and other debris and waste, this can be especially true for big renovation projects like kitchens and primary suites.
If you fill your dumpster and still have waste and junk to get rid of, no problem! Let us know and we’ll bring a new, empty dumpster when we come to retrieve the full one.
One of the advantages that renting your dumpster from Ace-Robbins offers is how easy our dumpsters are to fill! You don’t have to waste time and risk injury trying to chuck the waste up over the sides of the dumpster. That’s because our dumpsters all have swing doors! With the door open, you can easily and safely carry waste in or use a wheelbarrow for loading.
As you plan your project, you are likely going over what you are going to need to get rid of.
For safety and regulatory reasons, we cannot haul away the below items. Get in touch with us if you have any questions about the items you are discarding.
If you’re working with a contractor on a renovation, make sure that they know what can and cannot go into the dumpster you rent from Ace-Robbins.

This is one area where the experience and knowledge of the Ace-Robbins team comes in handy. When we give you a quote, we’ll go over the scale of your project so you can get the right size dumpster to meet your needs. Here are our dumpster sizes so you have an idea of which one will be in your driveway.
10-yard dumpster – Our minimum rental dumpster size is the 10-yard dumpster. It has dimensions of 3 feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 12 feet in length. 15-yard dumpster – Summer is also a time many people take on renovations such as a bathroom or a primary suite. At 4 feet high, 8 feet wide, and 14 feet long this dumpster can take bulkier items like vanities and larger pieces of furniture and can hold approximately six pickup trucks worth of waste.
20-yard and 20-long dumpster – We give you a choice when it comes to these two dumpsters. The 20-yard dumpster has dimensions of 5½ feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 14 feet in length. If you’ve never rented a dumpster before, you may be wondering about how to choose the right size. Our expert team will help you with that, going over the scope of work in your spring-cleaning project to make sure that you get the right size for your needs.
Here are our residential dumpster sizes so you can get a general idea on what you may need for your spring-cleaning project.
10-yard dumpster – The smallest dumpster we have available for rent is the 10-yard size. It measures 3 feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 12 feet in length, with an average capacity equivalent to four pickup trucks’ worth of waste. If your cleaning work is focused on purging in one space like the basement or attic, this may be the size you need.
12-yard dumpster – If you need to clear out multiple spaces like your basement and attic, this dumpster that measures 3 feet high, 8 feet wide, and 12 feet long can hold around the same amount of waste as five pickup trucks.
15-yard dumpster – Is your project larger in scale and involve furniture and other bulky items? The dimensions of this dumpster are 4 feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 14 feet in length. It has the capacity to hold materials equivalent to that of approximately six pickup trucks.
20-yard and 20-long dumpsters – As the spring-cleaning work gets more involved, the dumpsters get bigger. If the kids are outgrowing their furniture and have a lot of toys they no longer use, you may need this size. Both dumpsters can hold approximately eight pickup trucks worth of material. Your choice should be based on your project’s requirements and the space you have available for the dumpster. The 20-yard dumpster has dimensions of 5½ feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 14 feet in length. However, for those who prefer a shorter height, there is a 20-yard dumpster that measures 4 feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 23 feet in length.
30-yard dumpsters – This size dumpster is for big spring-cleaning projects, like when you’re facing an empty nest and want to de-clutter and organize your home for the next chapter in your life. It measures 6 feet high, 8 feet wide, and 23 feet long. It can hold about 12 pickup trucks worth of waste.
40-yard dumpsters – You’ll need this for major de-cluttering and purging projects, like if an elderly relative lived with you and has passed away or moved into long-term care, or if you are preparing to eventually downsize and sell your home. This dumpster is the biggest size available for rent. It measures 7½ feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 23 feet in length. It can hold approximately the same amount of waste as 16 pickup trucks.

Moving is widely seen as one of the more stressful things we do in our lives, right up there with getting married, having children, and getting divorced.
While stress during moving may be unavoidable, using a residential dumpster from Ace-Robbins ahead of the move can reduce your stress during and after your move.
Our dumpster rental process is easy. First, we’ll give you a free quote for the dumpster size you need. Then, we drop off the dumpster at your home. We place wooden planks under the dumpster to help protect your driveway from damage. Because our dumpsters have swing-gate access, it’s easy to use as you don’t have to lift and heave stuff over the sides of the dumpster.
Using a dumpster before a move makes sense in a whole lot of ways. Here are some of them.
How much stuff you’ll be moving plays a huge role in how much your move will cost.
For a local move, the majority of movers will bill an hourly rate depending on how many laborers and trucks are required for how long. Movers usually provide different costs per hour for two, three, or four employees needed and so forth. The cost-per-hour may also rise if extra vehicles must be used.
When doing a long-distance move, you’ll be charged based on the amount of your belongings’ weight and distance traveled, along with other potential additional charges.
The more stuff you have, the more your move will cost. By using a dumpster to do a purge ahead of the move, you could dramatically lower your moving bills.
The days ahead of a move are a blur of boxes and bubble wrap. If you simply just put everything in your home into boxes, packing takes longer. And so does unpacking. The days after you move will be filled with stress and hassle as you and your family struggle to find things as you unpack.
Moving is an optimal time to do a purge by using a dumpster from Ace-Robbins. Here are some examples of why.
Downsizing – If you are moving from a big family home into a condo or smaller empty-nest home, there will not be enough room in your new home for everything you have. A dumpster helps you get rid of what you no longer need or want.
A smoother move – Not only does renting a dumpster give you the chance to get rid of things that no longer, as Maria Kondo says, “spark joy,” you also can better organize what you are keeping so packing and unpacking go more smoothly.
Efficiency – Having a dumpster on-site means you don’t have to stop purging to bag stuff up and take it to the dump. Purging is faster so you have more time, energy, and attention to focus on packing.
A fresh start -You have a lot to think about when it comes to your new home. There’s the fun stuff, like paint colors. However, trying to figure out where all your stuff should go is not as fun. Renting a dumpster ahead of time gives you the chance to have only what you want in your new home. You won’t be bringing old clutter with you.
Move into this new chapter with less stress. Rent a dumpster from Ace-Robbins before you move!

If you’re a manager for a construction business, project management can keep you pretty busy.
You need to manage the hiring and managing of a wide range of workers, from carpenters and framers to HVAC and plumbing professionals. You need to be on top of scheduling and budgets, as well as keeping your project in compliance with codes and regulations.
Ace-Robbins’s commercial dumpster services can help you keep your project running smoothly. We offer customized dumpster rental services with dumpster sizes from 10 to 40 yards. Before you sign on the dotted line, you get a FREE, no-commitment quote. Because we’re locally owned, you can be assured of personal, prompt service.
Renting a commercial dumpster from Ace-Robbins makes managing your construction project easier because we take some work off your to-do list.
We manage delivering and picking up the dumpsters as you need them. You don’t lose valuable time on your project by requiring workers to make dump runs instead of doing work on-site.
Using Ace-Robbins’s dumpster services also keeps your workplace cleaner and safer. Allowing waste and debris to accumulate makes your worksite more difficult and potentially dangerous to navigate and work in. There are very often pieces of waste or debris that are heavy and/or sharp. Also, paper waste and other items may be combustible, so leaving them out can be a potential fire hazard. Having a dumpster to safely put these items away from where the work is being done is safer for everyone.
There are local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste disposal. Ace-Robbins has the knowledge and experience about these, so you can be assured that the waste disposal at your construction project will be in compliance with these regulations.
The scale of your project. Is this a single-home construction project, a commercial construction project, or a residential development project? We’ll go over the details of what you’ll be doing so you can be assured that you’ll always have dumpsters on-site and ready to be filled.
What you will be putting in the dumpster. Some waste is lighter than others. For example, if you are disposing of gravel, fill, and other yard waste, these can be heavy. You will need to use a smaller dumpster so it can be safely hauled away.
What size space you have for a dumpster. You may have a lot of stuff to put in a dumpsters, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you can just rent a bigger dumpster for fewer pickups. That’s especially true if your project space has a lot of vehicles and equipment on the site. You may need a smaller dumpster picked up more frequently.
What you cannot put into a dumpster. This is where Ace-Robbins’s experience comes in handy. There are many items we cannot haul, such as paint, anything containing gasoline, and chemicals such as asbestos, fertilizers, and R-22 refrigerant.
